Rivet | MRO is a new marketing resource organization focused on the unique needs of industrial/MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) clients. The consultancy was founded by Tim Rasmussen, a 30-year marketing veteran who most recently served as Director of Marketing at ITW Pro Brands.
"Our sole focus is to help our customers get more strategic about how they tell their stories. So many manufacturers and distributors have compelling value propositions that go nowhere. They've carved out great niches and offer top-notch products--but they often fail at telling their story in a compelling way," Rasmussen said.
"It makes sense. They fall into the trap of conventional thinking--'build a better mouse trap, and the world will beat a path to your door.' Sadly, the old saying is patently wrong--even if you've got a patent.
"There are TONS of better, fancier, elegantly designed mouse traps out there--and the path to the makers' doorsteps is overgrown with weeds because the maker knows about making things, not telling stories that spur action. Fortunately, we're really good at telling those stories," he continued.
